With three private dining rooms, and one gala space onsite, Scarpetta is the ideal culinary destination for private events.
The original Scarpetta opened in New York City’s Meatpacking District in 2008 to a critically acclaimed 3-star review from the NY Times. The restaurant’s name is derived from the Italian expression, “fare la Scarpetta,” which means to savor a meal to the last bite.
The philosophy of Scarpetta’s kitchen is to create bold flavors by amplifying the essence of seasonal ingredients. The signature pastas are made in-house daily and are paired with the highest quality, locally-sourced ingredients. Scarpetta’s famous Spaghetti Tomato & Basil is nothing short of classic simplicity in both taste and preparation.
Scarpetta has always been at once informal, comfortable and elegant, grounded with a passion for old world hospitality. Guests can enjoy ordering several dishes to share for the table, with a menu built for sharing and conviviality to inspire the essence of a stylish and carefree dinner party.

The Restaurant
The Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the James New York - NoMad Hotel, available for breakfast, lunch, dinner and brunch.
Offering something to accommodate all events, Scarpetta offers the flexibility of serving both the Scarpetta menu, as well as the option to offer one of the meeting packages, designed to meet the needs tight timelines or express service. The Restaurant is available for private hire or semi-private hire upon request; subject to availability and season.
Ideal for private dining, bridal showers, baby showers, rehearsal dinners and other celebratory events.

The Scarpetta Private Dining Room
One of Scarpetta's three private dining rooms, the Scarpetta Private Room, is located on the ground floor restaurant level tucked behind the wine room just off of the main restaurant floor with the flexibility of two long tables, or one square table.
This room is ideal for seated lunches and dinners for corporate events and social gatherings, such as rehearsal dinners and milestone celebrations.

The Studio Room
Scarpetta's Studio room is located on the lower level beneath Scarpetta Restaurant, and can accommodate flexible dinner seating of one long table or rounds, as well as theater or classroom style for meetings. It is also available for standing cocktail receptions. A spacious room with natural light, guests can use a part of the room to have a cocktail reception before their seated dinner if they wish.
This room is ideal for seated lunches and dinners, daytime meetings, cocktail receptions and social gatherings, such as bridal showers, baby showers and rehearsal dinners.

The Library Room
Scarpetta's Library room, also located on the lower level beneath Scarpetta Restaurant, is available daytime and evening hire. This room is ideal for rental on its own for intimate dining gatherings or cocktail parties, as well as for a cocktail reception before a seated event in one of the larger private dining rooms.

The Madison Room
The Madison Room is our gala events space of The James Hotel, located on the lower level of the hotel and catered by Scarpetta Restaurant. Infusing the perfect blend of modern yet elegant design and a neutral color palette, the event space allows guests to transform the room to any personal style and celebration type.
